• On 16th February 2009, HRD signed an Exploration and Development of Geothermal Resources in the Lake Abhe region in the Republic of Djibouti. Djibouti is an East African country astride the East African Rift Valley. The Agreement is for a period of 25 years and the Block Area is 630 Sq.Kms. The expected power generation from Geothermal Resources is 150 MW during the 1st Phase.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Djibouti, His Excellency Moussa Bouh Odawa, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources is seen exchanging the Agreement documents with Mr.S.R.Das, Director and CEO of Hydrocarbon Resources Development Co. (P) Ltd. The Agreement allows HRD to explore for and exploit the Geothermal Resources in and around Lake Abhe region. His Excellency Mohammad Idris Saban, Consul-General in the Consulate General of the Republic of Djibouti is seen on the left, keenly witnessing the event.
